How the ratings work

Research sub-agents read each professor's homepage, lab page, recent papers (Google Scholar, DBLP, Semantic Scholar), hiring notices, and public discussion (Reddit, Quora, lab alumni pages). LinkedIn is mostly behind a login wall, so its signal comes from search snippets only.

RA likelihood
5 means advertised openings or a large funded lab right now; 1 means almost never.
Public sentiment
What students and co-authors say. 3 with low confidence usually means there's little public data, not a mixed reputation.
Global connectivity
International co-authors, top venues abroad, industry ties, foreign PhD or postdoc.
Openness to outsiders
Evidence of external RAs, interns, remote collaborators, or people from industry.
Overall fit
A weighted mean: 35% RA likelihood, 30% openness to outsiders, 20% connectivity, 15% sentiment.
